The Writers' Toolkit-- Exploring the Land Beyond Word and Spellcheck: Saskatoon Writers' Coop
Instructor: Jeff Smith
The connected desktop is a portal to a world of tools and techniques that can be used to support and enhance the writing process. Most writers are already familiar with word processing, spell checking and Google, but many have never explored beyond that. Join our creative media expert, Jeff Smith, in a full-day, hands-on exploration of tools to assist with story planning, archiving, submission tracking, world creation, character development and more.
The tools and techniques covered will be usable on any computer that has an internet connection (Windows, Mac or other) and by any user who has operated a word processor and a browser without hurting themselves.
The class will break for one hour at lunch. Participants are free to bring a bag lunch or eat in a restaurant (such as Tim's) near Kelsey. Please note that private computers cannot be used for this course, so leave your laptop at home. Free parking is available in the Kelsey parking lot.
By night, Jeff Smith is a local area writer who masquerades by day as an academic and industry researcher into multimedia creativity tools
